In a
meeting with the editorial director
of Iranian Art Publications Co., Federico Mayor, the General Secretary of UNESCO,
praised the activities of this institution and assessed them as necessary steps towards
the appropriate introduction of Iranian art to the world at large. |

This meeting took place on March 31st 1999 at the central office of UNESCO
in Paris. Initially, Mrs. Mir-`Emadi, the editorial director of Iranian Art Publications
Co., introduced the activities of this institution and then explained the reasons for its
creation and gave an outline of its future aims. |
