A Glance upon the Symphonic Orchestra of Tehran (Fereydoon Nasseri). A short article by the permanent conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra of Tehran concerning the history, the present situation and the aims of this orchestra. The Persian section of this article, entitled "We have revived the annihilated orchestra", is an interview with Fereydoon Nasseri about the achievements of his nine year long activity as the conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra of Tehran.


Perhaps the future is not so dark (Interview with Ameneh Youssefzadeh). Ameneh Youssefzadeh has studied musicology and ethnomusicology in France and she defended her thesis entitled The Bakhshi Musicians of Khorassan, Iran at Nanterre University (Paris X).
She is a member of the French Ethnomusicological Society as well as a member of the Iranian World Group at the French National Scientific Research Center (CNRS), and her cooperation with Radio France has already resulted in the production of a CD concerning the art of the musicians of Khorassan. In the present interview, she speaks of the music of the Bakhshis in Khorassan.
